Diving isn’t for everyone, some people love to feel more free in the water, unencumbered by heavy dive equipment and some want to try out snorkeling before committing to a dive course. The snorkeling in the Komodo National Park is undoubtedly some of the best in the world and we here at Scuba Junkie would love to share it with you!
Our snorkel trip and dive trips are run from the same boat, meaning everyone on the boat will get to experience a fantastic day out together! Most dive sites in the Komodo National Park are also suitable for snorkelling. There are a handful of sites where snorkelling is not allowed or not safe. In these cases we will be able to bring you somewhere more suitable. This means that everyone gets the day and experience they want.
First time in the water? Not a problem, our experienced snorkel guides are all fully trained and will ensure that you feel safe and secure in the water and all are trained to a minimum level of PADI Rescue diver. So what marine life can you see whilst snorkelling? One of the most frequently asked questions we have is will snorkelers see mantas? Yes, definitely! There are many cleaning stations for manta rays that sit in just 5 metres of water. Juvenile sharks (don’t worry, you really don’t need to be afraid), green turtles and beautiful colourful corals are also regularly seen by our snorkelers.
